Potty Time

The time has finally arrived in the William's house for POTTY TRAINING !!  We have actually had a potty chair AND a ( sesame street ) potty seat since Christmas but they've done nothing but collect dust.  Hunter has been completely uninterested in using the baby potty and terrified of the using the big one.  So, we've been going with the flow and waiting for what everyone tells us will be his 'cues' to let us know he's ready . . . and well, he finally let us know :)  One evening, while staying in a hotel in Texas, he took off his diaper and started saying, "tee-tee, tee-tee" !!  Since we didn't have a little potty and he said NO to the big potty, Andrew put him over into the shower.  No worries for our little man though, that was all he needed to get this new stage of life started!!

So after coming home we wondered if Hunter's new interest would continue - and it did!  He officially used HIS potty . . . and has kept using it !! Now, he isn't even close to being considered 'potty trained' but I'd say he is definitely on the right track.  :)
He was soooo cute and soooo proud, I couldn't resist taking a few pictures.
And of course we've been using a reward system ( or bribery - HA )  Hunter loves his 'Cars' fruit snacks, M&Ms, Nerds, or stickers.  Sometimes he'll finish one treat, run back to the potty and try again until there's just a little more, then say "Yeah potty!! Treat Mommy, Treat!!"  haha  It's just too cute,
of course I can't resist giving in !!
This has been an ongoing process, with some days or weeks being better than others.  Although I have often noticed that his success depends on our diligence, energy, & effort.
I found a few blue jean diapers that he wore last summer !!  They were so cute on him, and he enjoyed that change.  It's so funny how tiny his little booty is!!  He's been in a size 3 diaper it seems like for forever but at nearly 2 1/2 has finally moved up to size 4.  I guess my little man is finally growing up.
After spending a week away from home while we were in New York, our Hunter man took a few steps backwards in the PT process.  So to get him motivated again, I had to work a new strategy . . . BIG BOY UNDERWEAR !!  He was pretty proud of the new gear ( including his new Razorback cap )
But after 3 underwear changes and pee-pee clean-ups from the carpet, Mommy decided that until we are more focused or determined to be completely PT, underwear may have to wait a bit.  Until then, running around naked seems to do the trick and helps him be much more successful ( if only he could be more accurate when it comes to aim - HA )

But I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.
