"Santa Twas tame & weft me pwesents - Yeah!!"

Christmas only comes after some serious preparation . . . and part of our preparation this year included the story of Santa Clause.  Hunter picked up on this fun idea quickly after we told a few stories, read a couple books, and watched Handy Manny with his Tools rescue Santa's sleigh during a blizzard.  :)  He started pointing out Santas around town and would say, "Santa Twas bring me toys under tree, Trismas!"  We thought it was adorable. (although my mom did have to reassure me that it was okay & to remember that he is only 2, when I asked him who's birthday we were celebrating on Christmas and he replied, "Santa Twas!" rather than Jesus . . .)  But the funniest moment of season came one afternoon while I was upstairs cleaning the bathrooms and noticed the house had become quiet.  I know too well that quiet often means my little man is into something, so I headed downstairs to investigate.  Hunter met me at the bottom of the stairs with his Big Brown Eyes sparkling and full of excitement . . .
Hunter: "Mommy I show you!! I show you Mommy!
Me: "Show me what baby?"
Hunter: "Santa, Mommy - I show you!"
Me: "Santa? Yes, you better show me."
So he led me as fast as his little legs could move, back to our guest bedroom . . . and that's when I realized what this must be about . . . all the while he kept shouting,
"Yeah!! Santa Twas weft me pwesents! Yeah!!"
HAHAHA!  When we got back to the bedroom he grabbed the toy he'd found (that had been 'hidden' in the closet) and kept saying, "Wook Mommy! Twuck, Twailer! I pway wif it Mommy, pwease? Santa Twas weft me pwesent! Pwease Mommy?"
It was seriously one of those moments where I wanted to fall over laughing but tried to hold it in, was scrambling for my camera so I could document how hilarious it was, and at the same time trying to figure out how to handle situation at hand.
After gaining control over myself, I explained to my funny little man that Santa would be bringing him presents, that they'd be under the tree, and that he can play with them but not until Christmas.  He seemed to understand but insisted that the toy be placed under the tree right then to wait . . .

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

SMELLS like Christmas!

We took a quick trip south for the weekend and got started a little early on Christmas.
Grandmommy and Pops's let Hunter open a present early that would be staying at their house for him to play with during his visits.  This was his first time, since his birthday 6 months ago, to rip open a package - so he was very excited!
Tractors, trailers, cows, horses - this present had it all!  Hunter was in Heaven!!
Granny might have enjoyed it as much as Hunter-man :)
Mom got us our matching Christmas Pjs
Hunter wanted to be in the picture too ;)
How sweet is this face - Seriously!!??
Off to Booneville for the Hick's Family Shin-dig
Merry Christmas Kyle!! Granny & Papaw surprised him with a truck!  Ho Ho Ho!
Guess he was a really good boy this year  :)
Rick & Lesia couldn't find a a tree big enough . . . HA!
ahhh - the true smell of Christmas
Glad we ran into you at Wal-Mart Amy!!  LOL  Detailed planning and communication has never been a strong suite for this family . . . when it's as big as ours, there is more room for slip-ups
Hunter loves all of his cousins, but may be a little partial to "Dracie"
Of course there was TONS of DELICIOUS food!  Pot luck of course, along with Rick's famous Hot Wings!
I made another family favorite - White Chocolate Popcorn Stuff
There was some real "dirty-ness" during our annual game of Dirty Santa!
James Brown made his appearance for the 2nd year in a row  . . .
Hallie represented her crew for the evening while Dakota pushed carts, Levi & Jessica were on the road to Louisiana and Lacy worked late . . . Sure missed you guys!
Me - "Did you eat a cookie buddy?"
Hunter - "No mam, Mommy."
He may not be honest but at least he's polite  :)
As we left the party that night, Hunter, sitting in the the backseat in his carseat quietly and simply stated, "I had fun . . ."
What a way to sum up the night.  We all had fun - I love my family.
And to the two that made all this happen . . .
Happy 58 Years Granny & Papaw
We love you so much and appreciate you both so very much

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,  "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
