"Wights Evwy-ware" SDC 12/12

I've always loved Silver Dollar City at Christmas time.  Going to see the lights, watching the shows, and filling our bellies with delicious treats, has been a favorite tradition of mine & Andrew's that begin with one of our earliest 'dates' 7 years ago.  We both grew up going with each of our families and now it's so exciting to be able to enjoy it with our own.
December 2005
We've kept up the tradition every year, so when we were blessed with a BEAUTIFUL Sunday afternoon in December, we (and the thousands of other families with the same idea) jumped at the opportunity -- because at just 4 weeks old, baby Hudson could neither be left behind nor taken if the weather was as cold as times past.
Hunter was completely beside himself with excitement.  He loves riding the rides and was pumped to show SDC off to his little brother for the first time.
We watched a couple shows including 'Frosty' (from a distance).  Our big man isn't yet eager for crowd participation or group involvement.  Maybe next year,  ;)
Hudson didn't care too much about the show, but it was the perfect opportunity for a little snack, diaper change, and a some play time with Daddy.
One of Hunter's favorite spots in the park is Geyser Gulch.  He loves to vacuum up the thousands of foam balls and then shoot them with the air cannons.  It's a very large play area with lots of twists & turns & possibilities of getting lost (been there, done that) and gives me a good amount of anxiety.
While daddy & big brother ran around shooting each other up in the fort, mommy & baby brother spent some quality time under the glow of the beautiful lights.
Of course Hunter wanted in on the action too.  ;)
Hunter's favorite ride -- the carousal.  How old school is he?  ;)
The *MOST EXCITING* event of the day was Hunter's 1st roller coaster ride, 'Fire in the Hole'.  It's been around a long long time, and may have easily been mine & Andrew's 1st roller coaster rides as well.  Fun Times!  (I promise he was more excited than the pictures portray, haha)
Andrew said he was brave during the whole ride and never screamed or cried but after it was over I asked him if he had so much fun and he said, "I not wike dat wide." hmmm We'll try it again this summer.  ;)

The entire park was GORGEOUSLY lit-up and Hunter kept repeating over & over . . . "Wook!  There's WIGHTS EVWY-WARE" :)  It really is a sight to be seen.
It was another successful trip - HUGE crowd and all.  Hunter loved every second of it and Hudson proved once again what an awesome baby he is (even if he wanted to be snuggled in Mommy's arms rather than in his new double stroller all day).
I just love these kinds of things; making these little memories.  And I just love our little growing family!  I love seeing joy in the faces of my children, as well as sharing this incredible joy & love for our family with my husband. . . this is what I've always wanted, what I've always dreamed of, and truly what I've always hoped and prayed for.  It's an amazing blessing that I am continually thankful for.

The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.
Isaiah 60:19
