Cruisin' With the Hicks Chicks

A couple months ago the girls in the Hicks family were trying to get a small Spring Break trip together, when I stumbled upon a great deal for a 5 night cruise out of Galveston, TX on the Carnival Triumph.  Everyone was totally pumped about the idea so we just went for it.  This was several of the girls' first time to cruise, so the excitement was enormous, but more than anything we were all looking forward to a few days of rest & relaxation.

We decided to leave the night before and take turns driving through the night.  And since we would be squeezing 8 ladies plus luggage into my 8 passenger (barely) Sequoia, everyone was supposed to pack LIGHT . . . hmmm
Everyone has their own opinion when it comes to "light."  We had to call Uncle Paul in for reinforcements.  :)
Granny possibly had the largest packed bag . . . and this was her "carry on."  Seriously ? ?  lol
Of course we left a couple hours later than scheduled - but we all fit - miracle
After a LONG and really UNCOMFORTABLE 9 hour ride . . . we made it to our rooms
We arrived early in the morning which allowed for a nice day onboard before we even left port.  Everyone was looking forward to showers & a nice dinner.

On our 3rd night of dinner, we were pleasantly surprised and entertained by our waiters - their performance of "Get Low" was too funny
Stayed up late to enjoy the mexican midnight buffet - Yummy

Ahhhh . . . nothing like lounging on the beach with the girls
There were tons of fun beach games
The only 2 girls to brave the chilly water
I think our entire ship was either from Arkansas or Oklahoma - therefor we called the Hogs and heard "Sooner-Boomers" more times than a normal football season ever dreams of   ;)
Our 4th Night - towel animals  :)
Lacy played beauty shop and made momma all perty
Granny laughing = priceless
Granny looking like a beautiful senorita
5th and final night
Bye Bye delicious and beautiful fruit
The muscles of the group got all that luggage safe & secure for a long trip home
What a WONDERFUL trip we had.  I so love my family and this opportunity, to spend such precious time with them, was truly a blessing.  We made many happy and long lasting memories that I will cherish forever.  Such a blessing.

Then we Your people, the sheep of Your pasture, will give You thanks forever; we will show forth and publish Your praise from generation to generation
