Happy New Years! It's PaRTy TImE! This year it was all about having a good time - we dressed up, got a limo, enjoyed dinner with friends - the whole shabang!
What a night!
What a night!
Ohhh who am I kidding, with a 4 year old & 7 week old, our New Years Eve consisted of, you guessed it -- Staying Home! BahhhHahaha But for this homebody, there is really no other place I'd rather be. :)
Hudson had some major congestion issues that were keeping us both from getting some much needed rest, the only way he could get comfortable & breathe was to be snuggled upright in mommy's arms.
Thankfully a dear sweet friend heard of our suffering and came to the rescue by dropping off a care package... This was my first experience with the 'Nose Frida' and I was (admittedly) a little grossed out. But I'm a mother and mothers will do anything to help their children... so (after Googling & reassuring myself that it was completely hygienic) I sucked out the snot.
Honestly, I'd do just about anything to have this...
Andrew fell asleep while putting Hunter to bed, so I rang in the New Year (Eastern Time, lol)
all by myself...
and with the millions at Time's Square :)
The next morning, we decided to kickstart 2013 off with a great breakfast at Cracker Barrel.
We had such a great time, we decided to make it a New Year's tradition. (I love traditions)
The rest of the day was spent hanging out around the house, enjoying Daddy being at home on a Tuesday. :) Hunter and I even did an experiment that we'd been wanting to test out, involving marshmallows in the microwave!
After drawing on funny faces & heating them up, they swelled up enormously HUGE! It was actually pretty neat.
Of course we had our 'lucky' black-eyed peas for dinner that are supposed to help bring us prosperity in the New Year.
Since neither of our boys are capable of staying up until midnight, I decided to have a special New Years Day celebration (with the help of our DVR) where we could ALL watch & cheer as the ball dropped for 2013. Hunter thought the noise makers were especially awesome -- Hudson, not so much.
At the start of 2012, I had no idea of the unbelievable blessings the year would bring;
The exciting news of our second pregnancy, a 3rd birthday, a much needed & wonderful trip to Mexico with my hubby, an amazing summer spent completely enjoying my sweet little man, the joyous discovery of another little man, a fabulous fall, my last birthday celebration as a 20-something, the precious addition of the 4th member of our growing family, celebrating new & old traditions during the holidays, hearing my Papaw's cherished laugh for the last time and the unsurpassable love & grace of Jesus Christ poured abundantly throughout our lives.
I realize how truly blessed I am... and all my thanks & praise goes to Him. What will 2013 bring?? Only God knows... but whatever shall be, I believe the scripture is true:
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
Happy 2013!!
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, ...
