I had never been to a pumpkin patch until this year . . . so maybe that explains why after visiting the first, we found TWO MORE :) Hunter loved the activities each offered while we enjoyed the beauty of fall's colors and some good ole' fresh air fun!
Ozark Corn Maze in Cave Springs held a special can-food drive family night for members of Fellowship Bible Church (our home church), so we asked Davin, Stacy, Payton, & Parker to join us. We weren't sure what to expect and didn't know how much the kids would enjoy it but decided to give it a try.
Hunter was his usual clingy/anxious self when it comes to new activities. This is how he "participated" during the petting farm, dirt climb, and absolutely refused the cow train.
Then after we secluded ourselves in the dark corn maze, he finally got happy. :) Giving him his very own flashlight helped alot too.
We entered the maze with the naive thoughts that the "children's section" would be easy. So we let the kids lead the way.
But after walking pretty deep into the corn maze, we realized that a map and close attention to detail was quite important!! Let's just say I was glad that Stacy and I hadn't gone in with the kids by ourselves . . .
It ended up being a really fun evening, that the babies enjoyed too! Though, poor Hunter warmed up a bit too late . . . by the time we finally made our way out of the maze, they had shut down all of the other activities. Of course by then, Hunter was ready to do it all and begged to ride the cow train!! We left with a few tears and the promise to visit another one.
A couple weeks later we met up with the Shores' family at Farmland Adventures in Springdale - Hunter had been asking to play with his cousin "Payt" for a while, and was SUPER excited when they showed up!!
Adorably glowing in their pumpkin orange!
I've been playing a little bit with my photos . . . I thought my little man looked precious 'antiqued'.
Once again, we made our way through the corn maze - luckily this child's version was a bit easier. Hunter and Easton played chase through most of it . . .
Until the kitty showed up! Easton was terrified and ran off. Hunter on the other hand wanted to "hold it and pet it" and eventually had to be escorted out.
He loves "lily's" and kept begging and trying to persuade (with fake treats) the kitty to follow us. :) And you know what - it did!! Then it showed Hunter a shortcut - HA!!
He's turning into such a little boy !
Their last family picture as a family of five - Alyssa Claire, a beautiful and healthy baby girl, arrived on October 13 weighing 8'3!! Precious family
Although a bit fuzzy, my little man looked incredibly sweet riding in his wagon in the pumpkin patch.
Finally time for the hayride !
Baby Lilly's first hayride too :)
SO on our third trip we made our way out to Vanzant's Fruit Farm. Stacy and I were looking for some cute photo opps for the kiddos and this was the PERFECT place!! Getting great pictures of three energetic toddlers was another story. HA! Oh well, it was a beautiful day for us to enjoy their fun (and free) fall displays. I am so happy to have found out about this place - I see us coming back here year after year!
Driving the tractor was Hunter's highlight of the day !
Besides the pumpkin patch, they had a fantastic variety of other fruits and apples !
My favorites from the day . . .
My Pumpkin
Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock.
